Marques Houston Parents

Marques Barrett “Batman” Houston, an American artist, was born in Los Angeles, California, on August 4, 1981. He is a multifaceted personality renowned for his singing, rapping, and acting, and he was a former member of the R&B group, Immature, commonly known as IMx.

Houston founded IMx with Young Rome in 1992, and before their separation in 2002, the group released five studio albums. In 2003, Houston launched his solo album, MH, followed by Naked in 2005, Veteran in 2007, Mr. Houston in 2009, and Mattress Music, his fifth solo album, on September 14.

While part of the Immature group, Houston and his childhood buddies Kelton “LDB” Kessee and Jerome “Romeo” Jones sang songs. Chris Stokes, who became their manager, took over the group.

Immature was their first musical partner, and due to Houston sporting Batman underwear on his head, he has been dubbed “Batman.” Later, the group changed their name to IMx, feeling they had grown personally and musically.

In 2002, the members of IMx unanimously agreed to dissolve the group to pursue other creative endeavours. As soon as Houston inked a record deal with TUG/Universal Records, he began his journey to become a significant R&B soloist.

Marques Houston Parents & Siblings

Marques Houston, an American R&B singer, was born to parents Carolyn and Michael Houston on August 4, 1981. His ancestry includes African and Mexican roots, which he inherited from his parents.

During his childhood, Marques and his siblings were raised in the countryside, where they spent their days with their parents. Seeking better opportunities, his family moved to Los Angeles, California, where they continued to support Marques in pursuing his passion for singing and dancing.

His parents, especially his mother Carolyn, were a significant source of support for Marques throughout his career. Unfortunately, tragedy struck the Houston family when Carolyn died in 1997 due to Lymphoma. Her untimely demise was a significant setback for Marques and his family, but he continued pursuing his music career, believing it was what his mother wanted.

Despite the loss, Marques established himself in various fields, including modelling and acting. He gained public attention when he shared a stunning photo of himself and his father, Michael, walking him down the aisle during his wedding to Miya Dickey. Marques has three siblings; Brandye, Brandon and Danielle.

Marques Houston, a renowned actor and R&B singer, formerly entangled himself in a romantic liaison with Jamila “Mila J” Chilombo, a gifted singer. His previous affair was with Jennifer Freeman, a celebrated actress, though neither Houston nor Freeman substantiated the rumours of their engagement.

Post his separation from Freeman, Houston indulged himself in a brief dalliance with Marlena Campbell. Subsequently, Houston bound himself in the nuptial knot with Miya Dickey in August 2020, with a significant age gap between them.

In due course, Marques Houston and his significant other, Miya Dickey, rejoiced in the birth of their offspring, a daughter christened by Zara Denise Houston, on December 2, 2021.

Miya was inclined towards the name ‘Zara’ due to its exotic connotation and intended to impart a distinctive identity to their daughter. Houston and his wife, both novice parents, are left incredulous and bemused by the experience.
